Find Julia & Steve (and Cpr and Msn)

Hey family and friends. We've moved!

The best part? We didn't pack any boxes. Our new address is: http://suburbanbrunette.blogspot.com/.

What does this mean to you?
1. You need to update your favorites on your browser bar. Come on, admit it, you have us in your favorites.
2. If you've linked to our old site from your blog or site, you need to update the URL. Otherwise your readers who in turn visit us will hit a dead end. No one likes a dead end.
3. Continue visiting us and leaving comments. We love everyone who stops by. (We love those of you who don't stop by, as well.)
4. I temporarily moved our names to the top of the link list on this page. But that's just so you don't miss the link. I'll move us back to our alphabetically appropriate position in a couple weeks.

That's it. Good luck.

PS -- The old site will probably remain live, but we'll just make it private/invite only. We'll try to invite all of you... but it will not be updated. We're going to use it for archive, only.

GRADUATION PARTY FOR TRENT

Here is a shout out for Trent's upcoming graduation from the University of Idaho Law School. Bryant and Glenda, Claudia and Adam will converge on the little town of Moscow to be part of the big day on May 10th. Trent will be driving back with Glenda and Bryant and will have a short visit in Idaho Falls before returning to Moscow for the Bar Review courses and Bar Exam. Since it has been awhile since he has seen many of you, we would like to hold a little BBQ in his honor, May 12th, Monday night at 6:30 pm at the Belnap's home. If you can attend, please RSVP before May 9th. We would love all of you to come! Feel free to extend this invitation to anyone you know who is friends with Trent.

Trent will BBQ the fish shown below. There will also be plenty of other types of food for people who don't eat fish due to allergies, taste, or as a matter of principle.

Attention and Warning

We've had our first "attack" on our web page. A random commenter put a link that said "please see here" and then put a link that attempts to download spy ware onto your computer. Do not follow links that you do not recognize. We may--in time--be forced to turn our entire blog community private.

North Idaho

I went fishing near Grangeville, ID this past weekend. It was fun. I finally caught a Clearwater Steelhead. I've tried a few times over the past 3 years and have been skunked each time. It sure helped that my friend Matt showed me where to cast. What's funny is I had (we think) the same fish on my line twice before I finally landed it. I'm pretty sure she wanted to be caught.

This is a 33-inch female.

5 more weeks...

Graduation is right around the corner. Today I paid $75 for my "doctoral" cap and gown--the undergrad package was $35. Aside from a velvet "hood" (which amounts to a big saggy necklace) I'm having a hard time seeing the $40 difference between the two packages. I realized today that I'm at my most 'unpleasant' when I know I'm being ripped off and there is nothing I can do about. I get a really irritated look on my face and I get short with the people making the sale. When the transaction was complete, the retailer said, "Thank you and congratulations." Congratulations? My 'disparaging remark' filter was almost overwhelmed.* There needs to be some sort of investigation on anti-trust with Jostens (the cap and gown makers) and public schools.

I didn't realize how close we were to graduation until the awards dinner for the graduating law students that was held last Saturday. I was sitting there eating thinking..."huh...this dinner is being held becuase we are done...weird." I've been putting on suits and ties and going to law school functions for 3 years -- after awhile you sort of forget what they are for.

This is a picture of my friend Courtney and I from the graduation dinner.** She's one of my classmates. It was a good time. The student representatives put together a slide show very similar to the ones they do at high school graduation. Somehow a picture of Brett and I in our pro wrestler Halloween costumes ended up in the presentation. Our costumes consisted of a mask, a cape, and speedo underwear. At least I was wearing a mask...most people didn't know it was me and I didn't bother revealing the masked marauder's identity.

*A 'disparaging remark' filter is a cognitive mechanism that helps you understand whether a comment will insult or injure the feelings of your audience. I'm not certain they exist...but if they do...mine...which I mentioned early...was almost overwhelmed today.

**And Grandma...people from my generation touch in photographs even when they are not dating or betroved to be married. You don't need to ask the questions that undoubtedly popped into your mind.
